The Surreal Sounds of Dylan’s Brain
Lurking from the cretic imagination of Dylan’s Brain comes Stupid Son’s latest explorative sound. Throughout a sleep paralysis and insomniac episodic evolution a track of other worldly eeriness was born. We’ve spoken with Stupid Son to go behind the mind of the artist, you can check that out below!

Some of this song is quite old, we’ve been playing it in various forms for years. Over that time it’s changed and evolved, along with the band, into its current form. The driving guitars that begin the song contrast with the melodic interlocking guitar lines, and this contrast conveys the different elements of the band’s sound.
Written during sleep-paralysis-fueled insomniac episodes stretching over the course of several months, lyricist Andrew Pierce says Dylan’s Brain is concerned with “coming to terms with the not-so-slow realization that you’re no longer in control of your own thoughts… facing the reality that these intrusive feelings are splitting apart your character. Like most hypochondriacs, these thoughts usually invade when I’m lying down, struggling to fall asleep. Dylan isn’t real, but his brain is.
The track was recorded, mixed and mastered alongside the rest of the seven-track EP by Darragh Hansard (Thee U.F.O) in Orc’s Lair studios in June 2023. Comedy is set for release in early 2024.
As always, there is more to explore in the void!
