Healthy High was kind of an earworm that was in our head for the longest time, eventually we decided to develop it into a full song where the catchy guitar riff and melody take center stage and kind of bring the rest of us along for the ride. The whole thing comes together and creates this energetic and uplifting soundscape which really helps capture the overall journey of Van Gone.

The song has had a lot of changes in practice but by the time we sat down with our producer Tristus Boyd to make it in the studio it all flowed naturally and ended up being one of our easiest and most enjoyable studio experiences. We remember the euphoric feeling we had sitting around listening to it all come together for the first time and how we hope to capture that feeling again with all our upcoming releases.

As far as the emotions behind the song, I think we all agree that it’s a song about self redemption and second chances, which is important to Van Gone. We can really see it’s something everyone can relate to at some point in their lives when you see people singing and moshing at our shows.

Healthy High has really given us the momentum and drive we needed to boost our upcoming debut album, ‘We Keep Missing Each Other’ which will be released on all streaming platforms February 16th.
